Dear Friends,
Bishop Knisely makes a parochial visit to our Parish to lead worship and talk with parishioners every other year. He will be with us on May 17th. We will have a Parish Brunch immediately following the worship that day and I hope you will plan to stay. The menu will include bagels and locs, deviled eggs, fruit, and pastries.
When the Bishop comes, he is always ready to confirm parishioners, officially receive parishioners into the fellowship of the Episcopal Church, and/or offer a blessing of affirmation of your faith.
Reception is offered to people who were baptized or confirmed in a different Christian denomination and have now found a home in the Episcopal Church. St. Andrew's by-the-Sea's by-laws count members by two criteria: people who worship with us six times or more per year and who are known to the Treasurer. We never ask for proof of Baptism or other churchy paperwork. And, if you feel at home in the Episcopal Church and appreciate the direction, theology, witness, and rituals of our denomination, being received is a special way to confirm your worship preference and your gift of presence in and engagement with our parish.
If you have questions about this or wish to receive any of the above mentioned blessings from the Bishop, please speak to me by May 10th.
Thank you!
Virginia
Our Food Bank Ministry and Outreach:
If you are interested in helping at the St. Pete's and St. Andy's Food Bank in Providence on June 5th and July 10th, please contact Virginia. We hope to take 8-10 people each time we go up. We meet at St. Andrew's at 9 am and carpool. Those of us who have already been, are quite sure that you will be inspired!
We continue to work together to fill the big green bucket in the Narthex with paper products and personal hygiene products, as well as pasta and sauce, beans and rice, to be shared equally between the Westport Food Pantry and the Little Compton Food Bank (which also serves Tiverton residents). The need is greater now than ever!
We are asking for recipes for a St. Andrew's by-the-Sea Cookbook, to be published late this year.
Forms to submit a recipe for review are in the Narthex. If you have questions see Linda Findlay, Lora MacFall, Cindy Burns, Mary Mackintosh, or Martina Halsey.

We will turn those receipts back into Lees and will receive a percentage back of the total amount of the receipts. Thanks for your participation!
